Coming by car
• from Munich ca. 2 hours
• from Salzburg ca. 1 hour:
Tauern autobahn heading south to Bischofshofen, Gasteinertal exit, highway 167 to Gastein valley
• from Innsbruck ca. 2 hours:
Autobahn to Wörgl, highway 312 via St.Johann/Tirol to Lofer, highway 311 via Zell am See to Lend, highway 167 to Gastein or autobahn Kufstein - Salzburg - Villach, Gasteinertal exit, highway 167 to Gastein valley.
• from points south, drive via Villach, Möllbrücke and Obervellach to Mallnitz, then take advantage of convenient motorail service to Gastein. Schedule of the Tauern motorail service.
Coming by train:
Euro- and Intercity, and express trains all stop at the station in Dorfgastein. There are always taxi and bus connections available to the individual villages. Luggage transfers are an additional service offered by local taxis. Schedule of ÖBB

The nearest airports are Salzburg and Munich.
